Zero Covid Scotland – Covid Crisis in Scotland’s Schools

19 February 2022 @ 14:00 - 16:00 GMT

Scotland is averaging 7K new Covid cases a day.  With 0% of 5-11 year olds and only 32% of 12-15 year olds vaccinated, and little progress on school ventilation, is this the right time for the Scottish Government to be lifting restrictions? Join this public meeting on Saturday 19th February, 2pm to discuss.

Programme:

  1. Professor Deepti Gurdasani, Senior Lecturer in Epidemiology at Queen Mary University of London: Impacts of Covid-19 on children and the evidence on effective Covid mitigations for schools.
  2. Nuzhat Uthmani, primary school teacher and EIS rep based in Glasgow: Covid-19 – the reality in Scottish schools: lack of mitigations, impacts on teachers and educational disruption.
  3. Speaker from Long Covid Kids Scotland: The impacts of Long Covid on children and their families.
