Solidarity with India and the fight for a People’s Vaccine

16 May 2021 / zerocovid

Last week at our campaign call we discussed the situation in India and the issue of global vaccine apartheid. Sarbjit Sohal from South Asia Solidarity suggested ways that activists here in the UK can support people in India.

  • You can find a guide about organisations to make direct donations to here.

  • Write to your MP and ask them to sign a letter to India Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Download the covering letter from and the letter the MP should sign.

  • South Asia Solidarity are on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and they advertise events and actions across those pages.

On 11 May activists protested outside AstraZeneca’s Cambridge offices demanding action for a People’s Vaccine! There were also protests in Oxford (where the vaccine was developed) and in Macclesfield. We need to keep escalating until Boris Johnson stops blocking the TRIPS waiver (read about it here)!
