National Day of Action! Eliminate the virus – end the pandemic

09 November 2020 / zerocovid

On Saturday 14 November Zero Covid is holding a National Day of Action to highlight the need for a new approach to tackling Covid-19 in the UK. The message is simple:

We don’t have to live with the virus, there is a way of beating it. Other countries have done it. We could too, with an effective Zero Covid Strategy

At 11.00 an online rally will be held, with speakers including:

  • Dr Gabriel Scally (Independent SAGE, personal capacity)
  • Janet Newsham (Hazards Campaign)
  • Larissa Kennedy (President of the National Union of Students)
  • Clare Rayner (Long Convid group)
  • Daniel Kebede (Vice President of the National Education Union, personal capacity)
  • Elane Heffernan (Chair of Disabled Members UCU, UCU Executive, personal capacity)
  • Dalbir Dhillon, RMT Manchester Victoria Branch Vice chair (personal capacity)
  • Dr Emma Runswick  (British Medical Association activist, personal capacity)

At 14.00 we will hold safe outdoor protests following these guidelines

We encourage people to either print out a Zero Covid poster or better still make your own placard, and to share photos on social media with the hashtag #ZeroCovid
